We are proud of the extensive education and training that Dr. Khan brings to our practice. Growing up in Bergen County, she developed an early connection to our local community, one that continues to shape her approach to patient care today.

Dr. Khan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Barnard College of Columbia University, where she specialized in Toddler Development. This background gives her a unique understanding of how young children think, communicate, and respond to new experiences, an understanding that translates directly into gentler, more effective visits for our youngest patients.

She went on to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from NYU College of Dentistry, one of the most respected dental schools in the country. From there, she completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. During this training, she gained extensive experience caring for children with a wide range of dental and medical needs, with a particular emphasis on holistic and evidence based practices. This means that when Dr. Khan treats a child at Valley Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, she is drawing on years of specialized training combined with a whole child perspective on wellness.

Life Outside the Office

We think it is important for families to get to know the people who care for their children, not just as clinicians but as people. Outside of the office, Dr. Khan lives with her husband and their black cat, Luna. Together they are currently enjoying the adventure of updating their 100 year old home, a project that we imagine keeps them busy on weekends.

When she is not working on the house, Dr. Khan loves discovering new coffee shops, traveling, and baking. If she is not in the kitchen baking something delicious, there is a good chance you will find her watching The Great British Bake Off. Her next travel destination is Copenhagen, where she is especially looking forward to exploring the city's coffee shops and sampling its many treats. We love that her curiosity and warmth extend well beyond the office, and we think our families will enjoy getting to know this side of her as well.
